Katie “KP” Parks, ASW
KP is a trauma-informed therapist who focuses on supporting individuals navigating complex family dynamics, identity development, and healing from relational and systemic trauma. She builds a safe space for clients to make sense of their inner experiences, challenge long-held narratives, and develop more authentic relationships with themselves and others. She draws from DBT, EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems to create a tailored approach for each client.
KP enjoys work with LGBTQ+ individuals, creative-types, and those navigating family planning, IVF, fertility challenges, and parenting. She offers an affirming and reflective space to explore identity, grief, relationships, and the journey toward self-trust. She is also experienced working with substance use recovery for those seeking a harm-reduction approach. Known for being warm, thoughtful, and direct, KP helps clients move toward deeper insight and lasting growth.
KP is also trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy and DIR Floortime, using developmentally grounded, relational techniques to support children with emotional regulation, adjustment concerns, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She integrates mindfulness and somatic tools when helpful, offering kids and adults alike creative, embodied pathways toward healing.
KP earned her Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from California State University, Northridge, where her work was grounded in social justice and the impacts of systemic oppression. KP also has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and Political Science from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
