EVANGELIA DIPLAS, LCSW
Evangelia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual and group therapy to support clients navigating life stressors and mental health challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
She is passionate about helping individuals reduce suffering and build more authentic fulfilling lives. Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, relational, and non-pathologizing. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, Evangelia helps clients explore how behavioral patterns that may feel dysfunctional often developed for understandable reasons, and supports them in building more sustainable ways of relating to themselves and others. Clients can expect warmth, authenticity, and a touch of humor in their work together.
Evangelia has a special interest in working with individuals and couples with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. She helps neurodivergent clients work with their brains rather than against them, focusing on education to increase self-understanding, reduce shame, and build practical systems that support daily functioning. As a classically trained flutist, Evangelia also enjoys working with creative types and understands the unique stressors that can accompany creative work.
She has received training in several evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and the Trauma Resiliency Model, a body-based approach to nervous system regulation.
Evangelia integrates these approaches to create personalized treatment plans that align with each client’s needs, values, and goals. Prior to joining TLA Therapy, Evangelia worked for over three years at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, providing therapy and case management to low-income and unhoused adults navigating complex systemic stressors. While in graduate school, she received specialized training in individual and group DBT at Harbor-UCLA’s Adult Outpatient Program.
Evangelia earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Music from Emory University.
