EMMA IRVIN, LCSW

Emma is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience providing individual and group therapy services to adults, adolescents and families. Emma has experience supporting clients who are navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, grief, interpersonal issues, self-harm and suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Emma has a particular experience supporting individuals who are working through the lasting impacts of trauma, and helping them to regulate their body, integrate their experiences and increase feelings of safety and self-worth. Emma also has a large amount of experience, both personally and professionally, working with neurodivergent individuals on the Autism Spectrum, as well as their families. She believes in finding ways to work with the internal processes of their brains and bodies in order to find supportive solutions that are impactful and lasting.

Emma works to create a safe and supportive environment in her sessions where clients can feel comfortable working through challenges at their own pace without fear of judgement. As a therapist Emma balances compassion and empathy with directness and believes strongly in including humor, fun and creative expression into the therapeutic process.

Emma has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Problem Solving Therapy (PST) and Expressive Arts Therapy (EAT). Before beginning with TLA Emma worked providing individual psychotherapy to High School aged children and their families in LAUSD Schools through Pacific Clinics.

Emma graduated with her Masters of Social Work from USC and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Oregon State University.
