Therapist Kerry Luo

KERRY LUO, LCSW (#138706)

Kerry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who holds therapy as a curious, nonjudgmental space for exploring and unlearning patterns while also finding practical ways to access self-compassion and authenticity. She works with adolescents and adults carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, trauma, dysregulated emotions, life changes, loss, and external pressures. With a relational and culturally attuned lens, Kerry supports her clients in navigating self-criticism, guilt and shame, and complex interpersonal and family dynamics.

Many of Kerry's clients have grown up in cultural environments that stigmatize help-seeking and emotional sensitivity. Her commitment to therapy is driven by a combination of lived experience and seeing a need in her own community for modes of care that embody the nuances of cultural context. She is extremely passionate about working with creatives, neurodivergent folks with ADHD and/or autism, highly sensitive people, and adult children of immigrants who feel they need a place for their unique, intersectional experiences to be validated and explored.

Kerry's clinical approach integrates multiple evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and parts work. Prior to working at TLA, Kerry worked at Family Services of Santa Monica and the Torrance Unified School District, where she provided therapeutic services to individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Kerry earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from USC and her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from New York University.
